How do you pursue a hope that’s dead,

From war to the words of the wise,

From the heart of my mind through to yours do I breach.

Life is strange indeed. From everything that has happened, is happening, and about to happen, I can but wonder wanderously as the scope of things.

such grandeur; such complexity.

Not all is clear now, yet the effects of frostbite linger long after the chill fades.. like scars that never fully heal, even with time.

Even then, through howling winds and shrieking blizzards does life survive, and with it renewal. And as the frost thaws out, and the puddles vaporize into the day, if one looks carefully enough, perhaps he will be fortunate enough to catch a glimpse of the sprouting of new life.
New hope.
Spring.

Life’ s like taking a ride in a carriage down a cobblestone street in the dark of night; it’s impossible to anticipate the bumps in the road as you travel down the rocky pathway. Sometimes the road is smooth, and all is right with the world. Other times, and very often so, the road is so rough it makes you want to punch someone, or set a random person’s newspaper on fire as he is reading unawares, or steal your neighbors shoes and rearrange them into silly words, inscribing their clean managed lawn with a devious hint of mischief.

We often don’t have a choice over what comes our way, but I guess as far as it goes we do have a choice over how to react to what life flings at us.
Rediscovering that stint of sadness; that dormant, sleeping, locked-up emotion that I had so briefly forgotten.. was no sunny day picnic. But neither did I choose it to be a storm riddled fiesta of gloom and anguish. Instead, I found peace. Reconciliation.
Being able to come to terms with the rights and the wrongs; both the successes and the adversity.The future.. is what we are to make of the past and present.
So what do we do? What Can we do? Well, for starters..

we move on.

i will not shed one tear, for i am bereft

i will not smile no more, unless it is to lie

i will not hope no more, lest it is to die.

a dormant seed awaiting opportunity to sprout,

a harbinger of efflorescence to some,

to others.. a vampiric beacon – no doubt,

for for this sapling to take root, from its surroundings siphon it must,

to drain the earth of its fertility; to feed a growing lust.

what does happen though, when the soil has naught left but naught,

to provide for the tree overhead?

does the sky come falling down.. with death? decay? dread?

nay, roots seek greener pastures – thirsty tendrils extending their reach,

to the underlands beyond, they seek sustenance to live on,

like many a parasitic leech.

for an ideology to survive, sometimes others must die,

the clockworks of reality – so unreal..

which will it be?

yours or mine?

we don’t get second chances if we fail.

Inspiration – to those present, they feel an uplifting nudge. A whisper of good things to come…
